Sort of dunno nothin youtube12/12/2023 ![]() ![]() You should see his gig if you can………he is absolutely world class. Having won none of them, he is now the proud loser of more awards than anyone at this year’s Tamworth festival. January 2009 saw Pete travel to Tamworth where he was nominated for five Golden Guitars. The clip on YouTube is being spun around the world and has gained a momentum that has taken even Peter by surprise.” – “The Conversation Hour” with Richard Fiedler, ABC Brisbane. “Most recently, Peter has shot to fame for his song “Sort of Dunno Nothin” which typifies an unexciting conversation between a parent and child. This classy song is one in a small series of bug songs that includes “Bruce the Spider” and “The Dung Beetle”. One of these was a ditty called “The Petrol Head Fly”. He road tested a lot of new songs on the show. Having a swag of material under his belt, he toured with the Slim Dusty Show for four years doing comedy and playing fiddle in the band. Playing with the Ploughboys took him to one of his favourite festivals, Maldon Folk Festival and then to the bigger ones, Port Fairy and the National at Canberra. At twenty-two he joined a band called the “Plougboys” playing the fiddle and guitar and he did the pub rounds in Melbourne, six nights out of seven, which was a great experience but hard on the liver. He spent his early childhood in Japan and gained an appreciation of music from his Japanese grandfather who was a conductor, composer and cello player. His mother is Japanese and his father is a fourth generation, Irish Australian. This YouTube video was recommended by Jenni Gay who says:Īs a mum, I can hear both myself and my late mother in this woman’s song.Pete is one of those blokes who was always around the pub, the session, the concert or the buffet with his fiddle in his hand, ready with a joke or a twisted one-liner. I wasn’t sure if this should go in the Music section, the Humour section, or the Unclassifiable (i.e., just plain weird) section, because this clip is all three. They’re impossibly cute, and so is this song (Suggestion: play this one as loudly as possible): Puffy AmiYumi is a female pop duo from Japan. However, you can view it on YouTube here: Unfortunately, embedding for this video has been disabled. Here’s a pretty amazing a cappella version of The Who’s “ I Can See For Miles” that I actually prefer to the original: Parents will enjoy this one! Great song of parent asking teenage son how things are going: This YouTube video was recommended by Vicki Ryan who says: It includes four-part harmony singing that, for me, is stunning: The song is called “The Ghost At Number One” and it was recorded live on a TV show in Britain in 1993. Years later they are still spoken of in music circles with reverence. They did, however, develop a devoted cult following due to their songwriting craftsmanship and live performances. As a result, Jellyfish received little airplay and sold few records (they only made two albums). Musically, their brand of ornate power pop was fatally out of step with the emerging grunge period in rock (as typified by Nirvana et al). Jellyfish was a band that was active for about two years in the early 90s. The song comes my favourite album of 2007 ( Tones Of Town by Field Music), and the video shows what can be done with one line: This is the video for a song called "In Context".
